Group 1 AC · 230/400V hydraulic power packs
For fixed industrial applications on mains power: continuous S1 or intermittent S3 duty.

This is the line for mains-powered machines: machine tools, test benches, stationary compactors, industrial automation. An AC motor in continuous duty withstands long cycles and pressure holding that a DC motor could not, with steady efficiency and minimal maintenance. The architecture is modular: a manifold with the required valve cavities, a group 1 pump with exactly the right displacement, and a 1.5 to 30 litre reservoir in plastic or steel.
Configuration starts from two numbers, pressure from the load and flow from the required speed, and from the actual duty cycle, which sets motor size and duty rating. Single-phase or three-phase depends on the supply available at the plant; for special needs (two-speed, soft starting) our technical department proposes the solution at the quotation stage. The configurator on our Tools page gives an instant first answer.
Up to 230 bar continuous, peaks above 250 bar
More displacement means more flow but a lower maximum pressure: high pressures come from small displacements.
| Pump | Displacement (cm³/rev) | Max continuous pressure |
|---|---|---|
| Group 1, single pump PA | 0.9 to 2.6 | 210 bar |
| Group 1, single pump PA | 3.2 to 4.2 | 190 bar |
| Group 1, single pump PA | 4.8 to 5.8 | 170 bar |
| Group 1, single pump PA | 8.0 | 160 bar |
| Group 1, single pump PA | 9.8 | 130 bar |
| Group 1, reversible pump PR | 1.1 to 2.7 | 230 bar |
| Group 1, reversible pump PR | 3.2 to 4.2 | 210 bar |
| Group 1, reversible pump PR | 4.8 to 5.8 | 190 bar |
| Group 1, reversible pump PR | 8.0 | 160 bar |
What the customer needs is force, not pressure. A Ø50 cylinder at 210 bar pushes about 41 kN (just over 4 tonnes); a Ø63 cylinder gives the same force at 130 bar, about 40 kN. When you need both force and speed, the cylinder bore is the lever.
Typical industries
Components compatible with this line
Hydraulic pumps
Gear pumps for compact power packs: a wide displacement range for every flow/pressure combination.
Electric motors
Single/three-phase AC and 12/24V DC motors coupled to the pump via dedicated kits, for continuous or intermittent duty.
Manifolds
Aluminium manifolds for compact power packs, machined to drawing with configurable cavity count.
Modular elements & solenoids
Modular blocks, NG6 solenoid valves, coils and connectors to build the power pack control logic.
Reservoirs
Plastic and steel reservoirs, horizontal and vertical, from 1.5 to 30 litres, with dedicated plugs and accessories.
Suction & return
Suction and return kits matched to the reservoir: strainers, filters and fittings sized to pump flow.
Valves & plugs
Relief, check and lowering valves plus plugs for complete power pack circuit control.
Power pack accessories
Gauges, pressure switches, level indicators, heat exchangers and contactors: everything that completes the power pack.
Connection elements
Adapter flanges and couplings, motor side and pump side, that join the electric motor to the pump: guaranteed alignment, complete ready-to-fit kit.
Function plugs
Cartridge function plugs for manifold cavities: they seal the cavities the circuit does not use or give them a function, such as a 1/4" BSP port.
Frequently asked questions
What powers and voltages does the AC line cover?
Single-phase 230V and three-phase 400V motors from 0.25 to 5.5 kW, with group 1 pumps from 0.9 to 9.8 cm³/rev and pressures up to 230 bar continuous with small displacements. It is the line for mains-powered machines in continuous duty.
Single-phase or three-phase?
It depends on the electrical supply available at the plant. Three-phase is preferable for higher powers and continuous duty; for single-phase we check size and starting torque against the actual cycle.
What reservoirs does the AC line use?
From 1.5 to 30 litres, in plastic or steel, horizontal or vertical, with suction and return kits from the same platform.
